I was able to get some of the background done on Monday, but I was mostly getting used to the medium again. It is going to be a challenging piece for sure, since oil isn’t my favorite type of art form. Still, I like the 3-D aspect of it. The viewer can see the strokes easier than if it was watercolor, and can therefore appreciate how the artist made the picture. It is something I kind of want to be good at, like James Gurney, but never really liked it enough to do it. Here’s what I got done so far:
